An old neti - - ghurra, from the Himalaya, used as a hardwood bearing and holder for the butter churn stick and paddles used in the traditional milk churning process. Made of carved hardwood with a deep, fragrant, encrusted, milk-fat and wood smoke based patina. Dates to early 20th century. Nepal. Measures about 9 inches overall and about 2 inches wide.
