Straddling the Sacred and the Stylish

I still can’t help but read articles about “new” movements in evangelical Christianity. This week: Church changes it’s name to be cool. Goodbye First Baptist. Hello Mosaic.
After leaving a church called Sanctuary almost 4 years ago, I can tell you this is not a new trend. Perhaps the story is what is drawing people to these churches, but then again, nothing has changed since we celebrated communion with Hawaiian bread and Cran-grape juice.
Still, Slate’s article, here, is funny and a little sad. The reporter claims to have a church background. Is he just noticing this fad or just trying to sell a story?
